July 2007: ORI and ICOR present the Human Impact Preparedness Audit in Toronto following the WCDM Conference
July 12, 2007, Toronto, Canada
Organizational Resilience International, LLC and the International Consortium for Organizational Resilience (ICOR) presented the Human Impact Preparedness Audit 2 day course in Toronto, Canada.
The Human Impact Preparedness methodology, which outlines the planning process through a "people lens" was successfully presented to a select group of senior professionals over two days. This methodology emerging from the field of psychological stress and trauma, focuses on creating organizational structures and plans that can mitigate the effects of disasters, crises and other stressful events on employees and organizational functioning.
Participants learned about the three main components of Human Impact Preparedness: Organizational Assessment, Human Impact Planning and Human Impact Response and Recovery.
The advantages of the Human Impact Preparedness methodology are that it integrates "people focused plans" and assesses for potential gaps and incorrect assumptions. Additionally it incorporates an integrative approach for addressing both individual and organizational processes such as communication, highlighting the difference between the plan and its execution.
